Multiselect

I’d really like to be able insert more than one image to the image dock at a time.

Drag’n’drop

I’ve mentioned it before, but it probably won’t hurt to repeat it:

Please add support for drag’n’drop of images directly into the plot 🙂

Separate “Image from file”

Could you maybe split the insert image function in two?

I personally never use the built-in image collection but always use my own graphics, and therefore I’d really like a dedicated “Add Image from file” function (and probably with a shortcut) and then avoid using the Image menu in which I always have to go to the bottom to find the “Image from file” menu command.

Create my own image collection?

As mentioned above I don’t use the built-in image collection. However I would certainly use the functionality, if I could create my own image collection (or edit the existing ones)! That would be cool!

Thanks in advance 🙂

Import multiple images to image dock is a good idea.

Drag and drop image, yes it is in the list already 🙂

As for separating the image insert function, I don’t think so. Since many users use both of them (the build-in images and external images), separating the function will confuse them.

Create user image collection, we do have considered this feature, but the image dock already do most of the job actually. If we support multiple images inserting in image dock, and even support image dock data export/import, then you can use image dock as your own collection.

As for separating the image insert function, I don’t think so.

Then maybe you could switch the menu commands around placing the “From Image File” and the top… please… 🙂

… and even support image dock data export/import …

I don’t understand that part. How does data export/import work in the Image dock?

Image dock data export / import is in our list but not implemented yet 😛

BTW, you can also pack several frequently used images as a custom element, when you drag the custom element to the plot (then delete it if you want), the images will be inserted into the image dock, then you can use these images in the plot.

Neither I am not able to import images to my image dock nor dropping my onw images via the function “Image from file…” to my ui page.
I am using v2.32

How can I solve this problem?

Many thanks in advance.

  1. Hi SD. Have you received any error message? Is your own image file stored in the local machine?

I’m using 2.32 as well, and it’s working just fine.

1. I open the image dock
2. Click on the Plus icon and select “From Image File…”
3. Find the image and press OK and so on
4. Drag the image from the Image Dock onto the workspace

Where does it go wrong for you?

I press OK (Step 3), but the image will not be imported. Drag&Drop does not work either.
The images I want to import are all stored on my local machine.

No clue, why it does not work.

Hi SD, can you find anything in the log file? If you are using Windows system, you can find a “foreui.log” file in the “log” folder under the install directory. If you are using Mac OS, the “foreui.log” file can be found in the “Contents/Resources/Java/log” path relative to the application (“EaSynth ForeUI.app” directory).

Meanwhile you can check if you have the permission to write data into the workspace directory (default path is “/.foreui/workspace”). And the workspace directory should has enough capacity to store your image file.

When I want to import a picture from my network (No UNC path) the log-files tells this:

it seems that I have some problems with long directory paths.
Either ForeUI or Snag It (screen shot tool) cannot deal with it.

  1. Could you tell me how long is that path? I will try that.

Hi, Felows,

I just download a evaluation copy and having the same problem with image from file…

  1. Hi Rogerio, could you tell me the file path of the image you like to import? I suspect it might be a path related problem.
