I usually need horizontal space and I want to avoid scrolling while creating a mockup so I always have to resize the width of the element list on the left so that instead of displaying 4 per row it displays only 2. I also have to resize the Tools box too.

These widths don’t seem to be remembered an I always have to set them when I load the application.

Hi Mosty,

The width of the element list, with other layout parameters, will be stored in a file when you quit ForeUI, and will be loaded to restore the layout next time you run ForeUI.

The file should be: /Users/(userName)/.foreui/conf/layout.conf, please check if there is such a file in your hard disk. If it is not there, maybe your user account doesn’t have privilege to write to that directory.

Hi.

The file is there. I’ve just closed the application and it seems it has not been saved. Yesterday, I updated it at night and it seems it has not been written since then although I opened and closed the app 3 or 4 times:

-rw-r--r-- 1 mosty staff 0 Apr 30 13:03 tasks.pipe

As a side note. I’m not using the official mac release (I hate installers and love .jar files). My foreui app resides in my desktop and in there there is also a .conf folder with just a few files. Maybe the app is looking for the file in there?

  1. Maybe it is related. I would suggest to put the app in Applications directory, just like the installer does. If you want to launch the application quickly, you can keep the app icon in dock.

Just a tip:

To increase the workspace area I have undocked the Elements list and use CTRL + E to show/hide the list.
